USS Arlington

The USS Arlington (LPG24) leaves Huntington Ingalls in Pascagoula, Miss., on Friday March 8, 2013, on its way to Norfolk, Va., where it will be commissioned on April 6. At right is the amphibious assault ship USS America (LHA6) still under construction. The Arlington is one of three ships named to honor victims of the Sept. 11 attacks. The San Antonio-class amphibious transport dock was named after the city of Arlington, Va., to honor the 184 victims who lost their lives when American Airlines flight 77 crashed into the Pentagon on Sept. 11, 2001.
