Pamplona, Spain (AP) - To the sound of a loud bang, a rocket is launched from the balcony of the Council of Pamplona, tens of thousands of revelers soaked each other with sparkling wine and waved their red scarves in the wind to kick off on Friday noon the San Fermin festival, characterized by the release of the bulls.
The most famous summer celebration in northeastern Spain started in the cobbled square hall filled with revelers who shouted, jumped, cheered and drank while bathing with thousands of liters of wine and other alcoholic beverages as well as sprinkled with flour, which was leaving a chaotic mess.
Many foreigners who joined the party using the traditional dress shirt and white pants with red scarf, enthusiasts joined local residents who turn the city into a carnival.
