I'll be the first to admit it's felt at times like I've gotten robbed at the poker table, whether a real or online one.
But those experiences pale in comparison to what those participating in the European Poker Tour's Berlin Open on Sunday. As the final table of the event was going on four men carrying handguns and machetes robbed the tournament registration desk at the front of the Grand Hyatt Hotel, where the tournament was being played.
The bandits got away with what is being quoted as a "low six-figure" amount of the 1 million euro ($1.36 million) first prize.
Think about that the next time you're at the casino and feel like the amount of money they rake from each pot feels like highway robbery.
