Tucson native Caitlin Leverenz earned a bronze medal this afternoon in the 200 individual swimming medley.

In her best event, Leverenz, 21, caught two swimmers in the final 100 meters and swam 2 minutes 8.95 seconds. Ye Shiwen of China won the event, setting an Olympic record in 2:07.57. Alicia Coutts of Australia was second in 2:08.15.

Leverenz, a Sahuaro High School graduate, placed second in the 400 IM last weekend.
