It took three pitchers for the No. 15-ranked Arizona softball team to avoid a three-game sweep at UCLA.
Jessica Spigner started, Shelby Babcock earned the win and Kenzie Fowler picked up the save as the Wildcats held on for a 7-6 win Sunday in Los Angeles.
UA (33-16, 10-11 Pac-12) scored three in the fifth inning to take a 7-5 lead on a bases-loaded, two-run single by Shelby Pendley and a sacrifice fly by Lini Koria.
Fowler got out of a bases-loaded jam in the fifth with a strikeout and a double play. In the seventh, UCLA (35-16, 11-10) scored a run, but Fowler struck out Dani Yudin with two runners on to end it.
