No. 17-ranked Arizona won the Wildcat Invitational at Hillenbrand Stadium with an 8-1 victory Sunday over Portland State.

Although Portland (5-15) opened the first with a run to take the lead, the Wildcats (15-5) batted around in both the first and second innings to score all eight runs.

UA's Chelsea Goodacre paced the Cats' attack with three of Arizona's seven hits. It was the sophomore's second three-hit game of the weekend. She was 10 for 13 for the tournament with a double, homer and nine RBIs.

Arizona center fielder Alex Lavine drove in two runs and had two singles.

Shortstop Brigette Del Ponte and left fielder Mandie Perez each drove in two runs.

Winning pitcher Shelby Babcock (8-2) went the distance, striking out two batters, walking four and giving up six hits.

The Cats, 5-0 in the tournament, outscored opponents 42-10 and scored in the first inning of each game.
