There don’t appear to be any calendars in the FC Tucson clubhouse with June 2 circled in red ink.
But it’s clear the semipro soccer team has saved the date of tonight’s match against Fresno to its collective conscience.
The Fresno Fuego handed FC Tucson its only blemish this season, a 2-1 loss at Fresno on May 5. It was a memorable night in more ways than one — not only was it the Tucson franchise’s first USL Premier Development League match, but it was decided on a stunning 50-yard lob in the 84th minute.
The rematch is tonight at 7 at Kino Sports Complex North Field No. 5. The Tucson lads sit fourth in the USL PDL Southwest Division standings with a 3-1 record and nine points. Fresno is third at 3-2-3 and 12 points.
