The must-wins keep on coming. FC Tucson is hoping the wins keep tagging along.

The pressure resumes tonight with a second straight match against the second-place Ventura County Fusion at Kino Sports Complex North Field No. 5.

On Friday night, FC Tucson picked up its first shutout of the season in a 2-0 victory over the Fusion. It was also the franchise's first win over Ventura County in the two seasons the teams have been competing in the USL Premier Development League's Southwest Division.

FC Tucson will have to pick up a second win tonight to have any hope of grabbing a playoff berth.

Fresno leads the division with 28 points, and Ventura County is second with 21. L.A. Misioneros FC is third with 19, four points ahead of FC Tucson.

It will likely be a hot affair - and that's not including what is forecast to be a start-time temperature of 105 - with two teams facing off just 48 hours after competing in an intense match that included a small flare-up late in Friday's game.

"There's no love lost between these two organizations," FC Tucson coach Rick Schantz said. "They know now they're playing to hold on to the playoff spot because the L.A. Misioneros are going to creep up on them, and we still have hope."

Gabe Silveira, who scored one of FC Tucson's two goals Friday night, knows the importance.

"We're treating each one of these games as if it were a championship game," Silveira said. "It's going to be a little hotter (than Friday's match), so it will be just as tough if not even more tough. But I feel like we'll get organized and be ready to play for this next championship game as we see it."

Stoppage time

• In the opener of tonight's doubleheader, Xolos of the Menlo Soccer League will face Celaya of the AZ Soccer League in the Chapman Tucson Champions League final. The match starts at 5:15, with the winner going on to play FC Tucson on July 6.
