JOLIET, Ill. — Ricky Stenhouse Jr. raced to his fifth Nationwide Series victory of the year to take the season points lead, and Tucsonan Alex Bowman finished 17th in his NASCAR debut.

Bowman, 19, an Ironwood Ridge High School grad, completed 199 laps Saturday at Chicagoland Speedway in his Turner Motorsports Car No. 30, earning $23,493 in the Nationwide Dollar General 300.

Afterward, Bowman quickly caught a flight to Salem, Ind., to race in the ARCA Kentuckiana Ford Fall Classic 200, where he finished fifth.

Stenhouse outlasted Kyle Busch for the win, passing Elliott Sadler for the Nationwide points lead.
