Tucsonan Shirley Reilly finished the Boston Marathon about an hour before the explosion. She was in her hotel room when she heard two explosions. She went to the window. “It was kind of crazy. There was a lot of smoke and I saw a lot of people running away from that smoke. It was kind of scary.” she said.
"I’m really sad. My thoughts and prayers go out to the people who have been injured or died," she said.
According to Southern Arizona Roadrunners' Randy Accetta, many Southern Arizona runners in the Boston Marathon have been accounted for.
Accetta is keeping a list of runners if you have an update: https://www.facebook.com/notes/southern-arizona-roadrunners/boston-marathon-runners-tucson-oro-valley-sahuarita-listed-as-home-city-please-c/10151366561752076
We have also confirmed that Tucson runner Ginger Unwin, 37, is OK. She crossed the Boston Marathon finish line 10 minutes before the explosion.
