The busiest day of the high school sports season ended with Southern Arizona schools earning nine team titles at six sites throughout the state.

For the first time since 1967, the Catalina baseball team hoisted the championship trophy. The Trojans were joined by their boys volleyball team, which won back-to-back titles.

The St. Gregory's boys tennis team joined in the domination with its fourth straight championship.

And more than a dozen track and field titles were earned by local athletes at the state meet.
