At Tanque Verde, San Carlos (2-1) was able to hold off a fourth-quarter rally by Tanque Verde, handing the Hawks (2-1) their first loss of the season. Tanque Verde star RB Benito Pimienta left the game due to injury.

• Highlight reel: Senior RB Caleb Bush of San Carlos powered his way into the end zone from four yards out in the fourth quarter to lock up the win.

• Player of the game: Bush. He rushed for 146 yards on 22 carries and also had a 53-yard interception return for a touchdown.

• By the numbers: 3. San Carlos forced three interceptions from Tanque Verde’s Calum Edgar, and one of those picks went for six.
