At Canyon del Oro, in a Sonoran Region battle the Dorados (8-0, 2-0) forced three turnovers and kept the Caballeros (2-6, 0-1) from scoring until less than a minute remained in the game. The Dorados' star running back Ka'Deem Carey did not play due to violating team policy, according to coach Dusty Peace.

• Highlight reel: With 16 seconds left in the first half Dorados QB Jason McBrayer threw a 33-yard pass to Josh Brown, capping a 95-yard drive

• Player of the game: McBrayer was 11 of 15 for 167 yards and two TDs.

• He said it: "Our defense played well and we were able to give a lot of kids opportunities in this game." - Peace
