TEMPE — Despite having never faced the Arizona Wildcats, Arizona State coach Todd Graham said today he knows the importance of Friday’s Territorial Cup rivalry.

“It’s the biggest game of the year, every year,” he said. “Because this game is about Arizona State University winning the Territorial Cup, and that’s it.”

Graham downplayed his relationship with coach Rich Rodriguez, and praised Wildcats running back Ka’Deem Carey, the nation’s leading rusher.

“I think that he’s the best running back that we’ve played,” he said.

He said he was “very pleased” that the Sun Devils “obviously dominated on both sides of the ball” in a 48-7 win against Washington State on Saturday, but that ASU quickly changed focus to the UA.

The Sun Devils had a walk-through today, talking generally about game plans,

“It’s a big deal to us,” wideout Kevin Ozier said. “We want to bring the trophy home.”
