Today's Division II girls singles and doubles championship matches at Paseo Racquet Center in Glendale could come down to a showdown between two Southern Arizona rivals.

In singles, top-seeded Zaina Sufi of Catalina Foothills won 6-0, 6-0 to advance to the semifinals.

If Sufi wins her semifinal match this morning, she could potentially face Ironwood Ridge's Sara Brown. Brown, seeded third, beat Nogales' Cristina Oropeza 6-1, 6-1 to advance.

Sufi and Brown met twice in the regular season with Sufi winning both matchups.

It could also be the Nighthawks against the Falcons in the doubles championship.

Ironwood Ridge's Marissa Baca and Katrina Domingo beat a team from Glendale Kellis in the quarters and Foothills' Rachana and Kirtana Bhat also advanced to the semifinals with a win over Lucia Suarez and Helena Meyer from Nogales.

If the two teams win again today, they would face off for the doubles title.

The semifinals are set for 11:30 a.m., and the finals are scheduled for 2 p.m.

On the boy's side, Ironwood Ridge brothers Alec and Cody Petford won their match 6-1, 6-2 over a team from Yuma Gila Ridge and will face Sabino's Stephen Bonhoff and Jackson Lee this morning.

In singles, Sabino's James Soper moved on.

Division I

Salpointe Catholic went 3-0 on the day. In girls doubles, the top-seeded team of Lauren Amos and Claire Baxter advanced with a 6-2, 6-1 win.

Courtney Amos advanced in singles

Matt and Andrew Dunn also won and moved on.

Division III

Pusch Ridge Christian's Allie Scott advanced to the semifinals with a 6-1, 6-1 win. The Lions' doubles team of Sami Towne and Gabby Courtney also advanced.

St. Gregory's David Strong moved on to the semis with a 6-3, 6-2 win over Santa Rita's Richard Foitik.
