It's official: Alex Zendejas is the Arizona Wildcats' starting kicker. Again.

Coach Mike Stoops said Zendejas will start Saturday night, when the UA takes on No. 9 Oregon at Arizona Stadium. The senior replaces Jaime Salazar, who missed two of the three field goals he attempted in last weekend's loss to sixth-ranked Stanford.

Zendejas was the Wildcats' starter from 2009-10, but lost his job to Salazar in training camp. Zendejas hit one PAT against Northern Arizona, but has otherwise been on the sideline through the first three games.

Zendejas is the nephew of Max Zendejas, the UA's all-time leading scorer. Alex defeated Arizona State with a last-second field goal in 2009, but missed two PATs — including a potential game-winner — against the Sun Devils a year ago.

"We're going to give Alex his job back, and we'll see what he does this week," Stoops said. "There wasn't a huge different in camp, but Jaime was a little more consistent. He hasn't kicked as well as we would have liked from a certain range in."
