The Arizona Wildcats have replaced one all-Pac-12 shortstop with another.

Kellie Fox, who earned first-team all-conference honors as a UCLA freshman in 2011, has enrolled in classes and will play for the Arizona Wildcats beginning in the 2014 season.

UA coach Mike Candrea said Thursday that Fox is recovering from ulnar nerve replacement surgery in her elbow and is “ready to start doing some things” while practicing with the team.

The Wildcats on Thursday received a waiver of the Pac-12’s in-conference transfer rule, meaning Fox must sit out this season but will receive financial aid.

Fox will have two seasons of eligibility remaining, starting next January.
