Will Arizona's 2012-13 schedule help RPI?

The Pac-12's collective RPI sank this season not only because of poor nonconference play but also soft nonconference schedules (Greg Hansen called it the "Conference of Chickens.")

It remains unclear how tough Arizona's schedule next season will be.

The Wildcats still have five open dates and how they fill them will impact their RPI next season.

So far, Arizona has either contracts or tentative agreements with NAU, Florida and Oral Roberts for home games, and a road game at Clemson. The Wildcats will play in the Diamond Head Classic but how they get matched up in that tournament could either help or hurt their RPI because the possible opponents include: Indiana State, Hawaii, San Diego State, Miami (Fla.), Mississippi, San Francisco and Texas Tech.

In 2013-14, Arizona has agreements for a home game with UNLV and road games at San Diego State and Michigan.

The Pac-12 continues its push in the second-tier postseason without Arizona around.

Stanford beat Illinois State in overtime to reach a semfinal game Wednesday at Nevada, with the winner going to New York.

In Corvallis, fans were excited to watch the Beavers crush TCU in the CBI.

Now, Oregon State will take on Washington State at 7 p.m. Wednesday in a game that Craig Robinson says will have "no surprises."

The Cougars beat Wyoming in Pullman to advance.

Lorenzo Romar expects a "raucous" environment tonight when the Huskies face Oregon in a rubber match of their regular season series. The winner will reach the NIT semifinals in New York. The game will be carried by ESPN at 6 p.m.
