Arizona has added home games with Charleston Southern, Long Beach State and Southern Mississippi as its 2012-13 schedule nears completion.
Ryan Reynolds, UA's director of men's basketball operations, said the Wildcats have also finalized exhibition games against Humboldt State (Oct. 31) and Chico State (Nov. 6) while the annual Red-Blue Game scrimmage event will be held on Oct. 21.
Arizona has two remaining openings for next season's schedule and Reynolds said they would probably both be home-and-home series, with one likely starting at McKale Center and the other starting on the road.
The Wildcats are putting together a schedule that should represent at least a slight upgrade to last season's out of conference schedule, when they were hurt by playing Bryant (340 RPI) and NAU (338). Arizona will play NAU again but the Lumberjacks are expected to move up under new coach Jack Murphy.
Southern Mississippi finished last season with an RPI of 26, while Long Beach State was 37 and Charleston Southern was 163.
"The main thing for us, especially in the (one-time) guarantee games, is to play teams who are 200 or better," Reynolds said.
