Grant Jerrett wasn't available in the post-game interview room -- freshmen are mostly kept off limits until after the season begins -- and he's a pretty soft-spoken guy, anyway.

That's OK. Jerrett's work on the court in the Red-Blue Game communicated a pretty strong message, with 14 points, eight rebounds, four assists, one block and a steal.

Afterward, teammate Kevin Parrom was there to speak about Jerrett glowingly, too.

"He has a smooth game," Parrom said. "You can tell he’s been around the game for a long time. He’s been doing that since he was little. It’s comes easy for him on the offensive end and the defensive end. One, because he has long arms. You guys don’t look at that but his arms are long, so on the defensive end, he’s going to get a lot of blocks this season.

"And offensively you've seen what he did today. I'm sure you’re going to see a lot more as the season progresses. He should be really good for us."

Isaiah Briscoe's dad told Scout.com (subscription only) that not only was the basketball part of his son's visit impressive but also that the other things such as the campus "blew us away."

An obviously pleased Sean Miller tweeted out a photo of the sold-out Red-Blue atmosphere.

Some other perspectives on the Red-Blue Game:

--Anthony Gimino looked at Jerrett's contributions.

-- Javier Morales has a post on the recruiting implications and all the usual tweets and links on his site. He also had a notebook for the Citizen.

-- Steve Rivera had a game story leading with Tom Tolbert's advice.

-- The AP's John Marshall says the Wildcats looked like they'll be pretty good.
