Colorado and Arizona will have a rubber match Thursday at 2:30 p.m. after the Buffaloes held off Oregon State 74-68 in a first-round Pac-12 Tournament game at the MGM Grand Garden.

Eric Moreland had 14 points and 13 rebounds for the Beavers but Colorado held OSU to just 39.7 percent shooting and had three players in double-figure scoring.

Spencer Dinwiddie led CU with 20 points, including a halfcourt shot just before the halftime buzzer, while Xavier Johnson had 16 points and eight rebounds. Andre Roberson, coming off an illness, had 12 points and seven rebounds for Colorado.

Already one of Arizona’s top Pac-12 rivals after just two seasons in the conference, Colorado had a pair of wild games already this season against Arizona -- and beat the Wildcats in the championship game last season.

"I think there is a lot of mutual respect between the programs," Colorado coach Tad Boyle said. "They're talented. We're talented. They're very solid defensively... we've played them twice and they've played us twice. Familiarity helps for sure."

The Buffs nearly won at McKale Center on Jan. 3 before Sabatino Chen’s would-be buzzer beater in regulation was waved off. While the Wildcats ended up winning that game 92-83, Colorado paid it back with a 71-58 win in Boulder on Feb. 14, when UA made just 1 of 10 three-pointers in the first half.

When asked if he felt like the Buffs were really 2-0 against Arizona this season, Dinwiddie said they did.

"We know it goes in the record book as a loss," Dinwiddie said. "But a lot of people around the country have the same feeling that we do. Even some of their players do because we kind of talked about it on the floor last time."
