Former UA standout point guard Jason Gardner, after a successful European playing career and a year on a high school coaching stafff, has taken an assistant coaching job at Loyola of Illinois.

"This was a good opportunity," he told the Indianapolis Star. "With my competitive nature, I'd like to be a head coach at some point. But I know there's still a lot to learn."

At the Adidas Nation event in California, Gabe York had 29 points and seven rebounds to lead the USA Red team to a 98-63 win over Australia on Friday. Tarczewski had 14 points and five rebounds while Robert Upshaw added four points and seven rebounds for the Red team.

Aaron Harrison had 23 points for the USA 2013 team in a game against Asia.
