For Sidiki Johnson, a visit to Arizona last weekend wasn't about deciding to play for the Wildcats.
It was experiencing life as a Wildcat.
Johnson's mentor, Bernard Bowen, said he purposely wanted Johnson to travel to the official visit last weekend by himself. So Johnson took off from Oak Hill Academy and Bowen stayed home in New York.
"It was just time for him to go and have a great time," Bowen said. "He saw his future teammates, watched a practice and had a great time. I thought it was good for him to go."
Johnson's visit also wasn't about re-recruiting him, really, since he's been a solid commit since August 2009 and stayed solid in part because of strong relationships with Sean Miller and Book Richardson.
"Book's like my brother and Sean's a great, great, great guy," Bowen said. "They're just good people. I'm lucky and blessed to know them. A lot of people get caught up in playing for schools but they don't have relationships with the coaches."
Johnson is expected to sign a letter-of-intent next month to play for the Wildcats in 2011-12 along with guards Nick Johnson and Josiah Turner.
