The Tucson Padres will return to Tucson for the 2013 season, general manager Mike Feder confirmed today.
It will be the Padres' third season in Tucson.
The club has scheduled a news conference today at Kino Stadium at 2:30 p.m., for a formal announcement.
The Triple-A team moved to Tucson prior to the 2011 season. The original plan was to play a year or two in Tucson while a stadium in Escondido, Calif., was built.
The stadium proposal fell through and now the Padres will return to Kino for another season.
Tucson is 29-54 this season and went 65-79 last year.
