Manager Terry Kennedy was not a happy man following his team's one-run loss to Nashville. It was easy to tell thanks to a flipped-over ping pong table in Tucson's clubhouse.

Kennedy didn't single out any players and was more disappointed with the tough loss overall, rather than one specific play.

"That's a game we should have and could have won," Kennedy said.

The Padres led most of the game, but lost the lead in the eighth inning on a two-run single from Andy Gonzalez with the bases loaded. The manager lifted Anthony Reyes for Erik Hamren right before the Gonzalez at-bat and Hamren gave up the hit on a full count.

"I either should have taken Reyes out one hitter before, or left him in for the inning," Kennedy said. "It was his game at that point."

Kennedy was also frustrated with the team's four errors on the night and said the defensive play has to improve.

On a brighter note, Kennedy was pleased with what he saw from Reyes. He said Nashville hitters were commenting to Tucson first baseman Matt Clark about how well Reyes was throwing.

Kennedy and the Padres get another crack at Nashville Saturday with another 7:05 p.m., game.
