Cienega's quarterback situation the past three seasons has been pretty solid to say the least.

Jordan Mills, one of Southern Arizona's best, ran the Bobcats offense in 2009 and 2010 and then Michael Archie took over in 2011 and led the Bobcats to the state championship game.

It wasn't clear who would Nemer Hassey's quarterback would be for 2012, but it sure is now.

Sophomore Adriell Alvarado won the job in practice and is turning in a very impressive season as a first-year starter.

Through three games Alvarado has thrown for 735 yards, six touchdowns and just one interception, which came in the first game of the year. Better yet, Alvarado is completing 66.2 percent of his passes.

Alvarado spent his freshman season at Salpointe Catholic backing up Andrew Cota and transferred to Cienega before the season.

The Bobcats (2-1) host Catalina Foothills (0-3) on Friday night.
