The Arizona Wildcats have added another quarterback to the mix for 2013, according to a report from one the nation’s recruiting services.

Former USC quarterback Jesse Scroggins has verbally committed, Scout.com reported today. Because he spent this fall at a junior college, Scroggins will be eligible to play without sitting out. Scroggins will have two years to play two seasons at the UA.

Scout.com listed Scroggins as the nation’s No. 6 quarterback as a senior at Lakewood (Calif.) High School. He committed to USC with hopes of following Matt Barkley as starter, but fell down the depth chart — and out of favor. He left the program last summer, and enrolled at El Camino College. Playing in eight games, Scroggins completed 79 of 172 passes for 1,148 yards and eight touchdowns and ran 42 times for 56 yards.
