Day 1 at Rincon Vista
• Highlights: The Arizona Wildcats opened training camp with an efficient, if unspectacular, early-morning practice. Defensive back Lyle Brown returned an interception for a touchdown during 7-on-7 drills, the first of a handful of big takeaways for the Wildcats' defense. Cornerback Jonathan McKnight added a "pick-6" during 11-on-11s, and defensive linemen Justin Washington and Mohammed Usman both registered sacks. Defensive end C.J. Parish ended practice with a sack of quarterback Nick Foles, stopping the Wildcats' offense during a two-minute drill. Foles was solid running with the first team. He found Gino Crump and Juron Criner for scores during 7-on-7s, and surprised his teammates with a 20-yard sneak during the 2-minute drill. All but two of Arizona's incoming freshmen practiced: Cornerback Cortez Johnson watched in street clothes, and linebacker Domonique Petties was not in attendance. The first day of practice brought a handful of jersey number changes: Safety Marquis Flowers has switched from 4 to 2, and linebacker David Lopez has adopted No. 18. Kickoff specialist John Bonano will wear 15.

• Injury report: Safety Adam Hall, linebacker Jake Fischer, running back Greg Nwoko and defensive tackle Willie Mobley are all out indefinitely as they recover from offseason knee surgeries.
