Jake Fischer and Adam Hall are both ahead of schedule as they recover from offseason knee surgeries.
What that means, exactly, is still unclear.
Arizona Wildcats trainers have not set a timetable for the starters' returns. Hall and Fischer will both attend the UA's first practice of training camp on Thursday, but will be incredibly limited in what they're able to do.
Hall, a starting safety, tore the ACL in his right knee early in spring drills. Fischer, a starting linebacker, was hurt during the team's spring game.
"They really haven't given me a specific (return) date and all that," Fischer told me today during the Wildcats' annual veterans' reporting day. "We're all moving at such a fast pace, and we're all taking advantage of the opportunities we have to get our knees back to normal."
Hall said he and Fischer are "trying to get healthy as soon as possible," though they understand the limitations.
The recovery time for ACL injuries is typically six months; if that holds, Hall, Fischer, running back Greg Nwoko and defensive end Willie Mobley won't likely be ready to play until early-November.
All four Wildcats are hoping to be cleared before then.
"I don't have a personal, exact date of when I want to get back," Fischer said. "I just want to get back as fast as possible."
