Arizona Wildcats wide receiver Juron Criner is running, but has not been cleared to practice at full strength or play Saturday against No. 6 Stanford. Criner is scheduled to meet with team doctors Thursday; if he checks out OK, he could be cleared then.

Coach Mike Stoops said tonight that Criner's running is "a positive step."

"We'll find out (more) tomorrow, so we'll have to wait and see," Stoops said.

Criner hasn't practice sinced undergoing a laparoscopic appendectomy in a Tucson hospital Sept. 5. He did not travel with the team to Stillwater, Okla., last week, and is officially listed as questionable to play against Stanford.

Stoops said Monday that Criner, a senior, could conceivably play against Stanford without practicing during the week. He caught six passes for 151 yards and a touchdown in the UA's Week 1 win over Northern Arizona.
