Quarterback Nick Foles suffered a rib contusion in Arizona's 31-27 win over rival Arizona State, but is expected to return in time to face Lousiana-Lafayette in Saturday's season finale.

Interim coach Tim Kish said today that Foles underwent tests today that came back negative and, while he's still sore, the senior plans to play.

Saturday marks Foles' final game in a Wildcats uniform. The Michigan State transfer is Arizona's all-time leader in passing attempts, completions and touchdowns.

"He wants to play," Kish said. "He came up to me yesterday while I was I in there watching tape and, yeah ... he wants to play."

Senior backup Bryson Beirne will start if Foles is unable to go. Beirne completed the only pass he attempted in Saturday's win, and wide receiver Juron Criner turned it into a 23-yard, go-ahead touchdown.
