National signing day started bright and early for the Arizona Wildcats this morning.
Georiga defensive end Jack Banda was the first to send in his national letter of intent around 5:30 a.m. A few minutes later, Florida wide receiver T.J. Johnson followed suit and sent his in. Both are rated as three-star prospects by Scout.com recruiting service.
The Wildcats are hosting a live Google+ Hangout, where fans can watch letters of intent come in live. Matt Dudek, the program's on-campus recruiting director, is serving as the host.
Banda and Johnson both faxed in their letters and then did a phone interview with Dudek on the live stream.
Head coach Rich Rodriguez made a brief appearance on the stream already this morning and is expected to pop-in throughout the day. Dudek confirmed the Wildcats will wear new uniforms next year and hinted that they could be revealed during the hangout later today.
More letters of intent are expected to come in during the next couple of hours.
One that won't be coming in is Georgia junior college running back Mario Alford. Alford committed to the Cats during the season, but signed with West Virginia this morning.
He backed off his commitment from the Wildcats when former assistant Tony Gibson left for WVU. His junior college teammate Brandon Golson also committed to the UA during the season, but is considering a switch like Alford.
Golson, a linebacker, will sign later today from his home in South Carolina.
