The Arizona Wildcats' tenuous quarterback situation could improve today if meetings between coaches and two signal-callers go as planned.

Scottsdale Community College quarterback Cody Sokol will visit the UA today, three days before a planned official visit to Iowa. Arizona's assistants will spend the afternoon meeting with Nate Sudfeld in Modesto, Calif., with hopes that the pro-style passer will follow up on a verbal commitment to play for the Wildcats.

Sudfeld spent last weekend in Tucson, but left before saying whether he'd follow up on his verbal commitment.

"I do like Arizona," he said Sunday, "but I'm not sure what I'm going to do right now."

Sudfeld completed 146 of 271 passes for 2,390 yards and 29 touchdowns as a senior at Modesto Christian School. The Scout.com recruiting service lists Sudfeld as a three-star recruit and the 64th-best quarterback in the country.

Sokol, meanwhile, is viewed as one of the nation's top undecided junior-college quarterbacks. He led the Western States Football League with 3,807 passing yards and 43 touchdowns as a sophomore this fall. Sokol is expected to choose between offers from the Wildcats, Cincinnati, Florida International and Iowa.

The Wildcats have just one quarterback, senior Matt Scott, on their roster.
