Just a few items on a travel day for the Wildcats:

With all the uncertainty about Zach Peters' lack of appearances over the past month, at least partly due to an illness, I figured I'd check in with his dad.

Tim Peters said his son remains in good spirits and is grateful to be healthy after a concussion-plagued start to his college basketball career. He said Zach had a bout with the flu before Christmas and was kept away from the team to avoid spreading it.

“He’s told me he’s had some great practices the last couple of weeks, and he’s ready to go,” Tim Peters said. Coaches “just told Zach to be patient. He’s perfectly fine with that. When you’re No. 1 in the country, all you can do is support that…. The key is to be ready when they need you.”

Sean Miller said earlier this week the goal for coaches is to have a team to be the same team on the road as it is at home, so here's the Wildcats' home/road/neutral splits.

The numbers are a little tricky to analyze, because UA's SOS is so much stronger in road/neutral games, but if you factor that in, the numbers aren't terribly different, with the exception of three-point percentage defense:

(Nine home games, two road, two neutral site)

CategoryHomeRoadNeutral
3FG percentage defense.261.429.265
FG percentage defense.384.429.395
Points allowed per game51.565.064.0

FG percentage.502.444.430

Also, FWIW, the L.A. trip has easily been the toughest for Arizona under Sean Miller. Here are the W-L totals since he arrived in 2009-10:

DestinationUA record
Bay Area (Cal, Stanford)5-1
ASU3-1
Washington (Wash., WSU)4-4
Oregon (Ore., OSU)3-3
Mountains (Utah, Colo.)2-2
Los Angeles (USC, UCLA)2-6

SI's Luke Winn takes a graphical look at UA's balance in his power ratings.

There's a Pac-12 doubleheader on Pac-12 Networks tonight:

Colorado at WSU, 7 p.m.

Utah at Washington, 9 p.m.
