For the Arizona Wildcats, the final ingredient to assembling the nation's top-rated recruiting class is patience.

It took a 12-hour period for Arizona to receive letters of intent from three of its four top-50 recruits Wednesday, the first day of the fall signing period: center Kaleb Tarczewski, forward Brandon Ashley and guard Gabe York.

And they'll have to wait even longer for a letter from California forward Grant Jerrett, who is not scheduled to sign his until Monday.

Jerrett's coach at La Verne (Calif.) Lutheran, Eric Cooper, said Jerrett will sign at 4 p.m. Tucson time on Monday during a signing event because that's the only time his family and principal can all be there at the same time.

Ashley signed in the morning at his high school, and Tarczewski and York signed early Wednesday evening. Tarczewski, who is attending St. Mark's School in Southborough, Mass., was waiting for his parents to travel from their home in Claremont, N.H.

"It's kind of more about family for me," Tarczewski said earlier Wednesday before he signed.

John Carroll, Tarczewski's travel coach, said Tarczewski signed his letter of intent while having dinner with his high school coach, Carroll, and his parents.

"Kaleb and family very happy," Carroll wrote via text message.

York also waited for much of Wednesday before signing so that his brother, Elijah, a junior forward for Tennessee-Martin, would be able to join the family via Skype. York's mother, Deborah, said he signed and faxed in the letter late Wednesday afternoon.

"Sometimes I think they love each other more than they love me," Deborah York said jokingly of her sons. Elijah is "missing everything Gabe does this year."

Ashley signed his Arizona letter of intent in front of family during a signing event at the Findlay Prep gym in Henderson, Nev., along with teammate Dominic Artis, who signed with Oregon, according to Findlay assistant coach Andy Johnson.

UA is not expected to formally announce the signings until after Jerrett signs on Monday. NCAA rules limit public press conferences of signing classes to one per signing period.

Athletes have until Wednesday to sign during the fall signing period.
