The Arizona Wildcats were given a No. 1 seed in the NIT and will host No. 8 Bucknell (24-9) at 6 p.m. on Wednesday at McKale Center.

The winner of Wednesday's game will face either No. 4 Oral Roberts or No. 5 Nevada in the second round, to be played sometime between March 15-19.

The Bison were an automatic qualifier for the NIT after winning the Patriot League regular-season title with a 12-2 record. They lost to Lehigh 82-77 in the finals of the Patriot League Tournament, however, and did not earn the conference's automatic bid.

Conference regular-season winners who do not win their conference tournaments are guaranteed an invitation to the 32-team NIT.

The NIT is played at the home site of the higher-seeded team for the first three rounds, after which the winners advance to New York for the semifinals and final.

As a No. 1 seed, Arizona would have the right to host three games if it keeps winning. The Wildcats will not be able to host on March 16 because of a gymnastics meet, but will likely host a second round game on March 17-19 if they beat Bucknell.
