New hometown
Brandon Ashley changed one important part of his bio last week - his hometown.
Since arriving to play for the Arizona Wildcats, the freshman forward had identified himself as from Oakland, Calif.
But Ashley told UA staffers Friday he preferred to be listed as from San Francisco.
It will match his left arm, at least. That's where Ashley has a tattoo of the Golden Gate Bridge.
Ashley was born in San Francisco and lived in Dublin, Calif. - about 35 miles east of San Francisco - when he wasn't attending Findlay Prep in Las Vegas.
He attended Bishop O'Dowd High School in Oakland before moving to Nevada.
In tribute
Arizona Wildcats forward Kevin Parrom stood out Wednesday night against Northern Arizona for more than just his play.
He wore black and sparkly hot pink Nike high-tops, a tribute to his mother, Lisa Williams, who died last year after fighting cancer for two years.
Around noon on Wednesday, he posted a photo of the shoes on Instagram.
"Just for you, MaMa," he wrote.
Long day
New Northern Arizona coach Jack Murphy has his own strategies when it comes to traveling to Tucson. Rather than do what the Lumberjacks did in previous years - we remember them changing in a booster's RV - Murphy put his team on a bus in Flagstaff around 1 p.m.
The Lumberjacks stopped in Phoenix to eat a team meal and kept driving to Tucson.
They took the bus home, too; we figured they wouldn't arrive back on campus until 3 a.m., at the earliest.

Arizona Wildcats radio commentator Matt Muehlebach switched over to television again Wednesday night, calling the game for the Pac-12 Networks alongside Jim Watson.
It marked his second such UA game; earlier this month, he did TV for the UA-Charleston Southern game,
The Wildcats radio booth had a different fill-in this time around.
On Nov. 11, former color analyst Ryan Hansen took over for Muehlebach.
Wednesday night, it was Jim Rosborough, the former longtime UA assistant coach.
Rosborough coached under Lute Olson at the UA for 18 years until leaving rather than accept a switch to an off-the-court job in 2007. He is now a volunteer assistant for the UA women's tennis team.

The Wildcats have only played two other teams, ASU and New Mexico, more frequently than they have NAU. The UA and NAU used to play four times a year when they were both in the Border Conference.

Earlier this week, Lumberjacks coach Jack Murphy told the Star's Bruce Pascoe that the new Pac-12 Networks were "the best thing to ever happen so far to NAU."
He was half-joking but had a point. With the Wildcats on Fox Sports Net on far fewer occasions, the Lumberjacks will appear on the station 12 times, produced by NAU-TV.
They will be on the Pac-12 Networks, too, three times - counting Wednesday night's game.
Elite company
Solomon Hill reached the 1,000-point career mark in the UA's last game, at home against Long Beach State. He became the 47th player in Wildcats history to reach triple digits - which is rare company, even for a rare list.
Only 11 other schools nationwide have 47 or more players who have scored 1,000 or more career points: North Carolina, Louisville, Duke, Kentucky, Syracuse, Kansas, Notre Dame, UCLA, West Virginia, Wake Forest - and Marshall. Yes, Marshall.
