• The injuries are coming in bunches for the Brewers. Aramis Ramirez doubled for his first hit of the spring Saturday but left Milwaukee's 4-3 victory over the Los Angeles Angels in Phoenix with a strained left knee. Ramirez snapped an 0-for-10 start with a bloop double down the left-field line in the third inning. After time was called, he stepped off the bag and was met by the team trainer before walking slowly back to the dugout. He will be re-evaluated today. "When he slid into the bag, that impact jammed it," Brewers manager Ron Roenicke said. It was the third significant piece of injury news for Milwaukee on Saturday. Right-hander Yovani Gallardo was scratched from his scheduled start today against the Cubs with tightness in his groin, and left fielder Ryan Braun was out of the lineup with a bruised left knee.

• Logan Forsythe had two triples in a seven-run third inning, and the Padres rallied to beat the Indians on Saturday after starter Edinson Volquez was pounded for six runs in the first in Goodyear. Forsythe led off the third with a triple off Ubaldo Jimenez. He hit a two-run triple with two outs off Edward Parades.

• Mets GM Sandy Alderson says Johan Santana is becoming "less and less likely" to be ready for the opener April 1. Santana was scheduled to throw batting practice Tuesday, but pitching coach Dan Warthen said Saturday that the session had been canceled. Alderson said it will be 10 more days before Santana builds up enough arm strength to pitch in an exhibition game. "We haven't ruled out opening day, although given when he might get on the mound, it becomes less and less likely," Alderson said.

• The next time Justin Morneau steps into the batter's box he'll be representing Canada in the World Baseball Classic. Morneau homered in his final game with Minnesota before leaving for the WBC, but the Twins lost to Boston 2-1 Saturday in Fort Myers, Fla. "A good way to go," Morneau said.

• Cardinals ace Adam Wainwright struggled in his second spring start, giving up five runs and eight hits over three innings Saturday in a 6-2 loss to the Nationals in Jupiter, Fla. Gio Gonzalez won his second exhibition start for the Nationals, allowing two runs and five hits in three innings.
