National League

• Cubs 6, Reds 5: In Chicago, pinch hitter Julio Borbon singled home the winning run with two outs in the 14th inning, and Chicago ended the Reds' record 12-game winning streak at Wrigley Field.

Hector Rondon pitched two innings for the win, and Chicago's bullpen finished with eight scoreless innings.

Chicago's Davis DeJesus homered, and teammate Nate Schierholtz became the first player this season to hit two triples in a game.

• Cardinals 2, Mets 1: In New York, Adam Wainwright became the major leagues' first 10-game winner by pitching seven scoreless innings and sent Matt Harvey to his first loss of the season.

Wainwright (10-3) retired his first 11 batters, dropped his ERA to 2.18 and recorded his 1,000th career strikeout.

Harvey (5-1) had been unbeaten in 14 starts since Sept. 12, and he pitched well enough to win on most days. He lowered his ERA to 2.04.

• Nationals 5, Rockies 4: In Denver, Ryan Zimmerman homered, doubled and drove in three runs, and Ian Desmond had four hits.

Craig Stammen threw two scoreless innings for the victory. Rafael Soriano recorded his 17th save after giving up an RBI single to pinch hitter Todd Helton with two outs.

Zimmerman's RBI double off reliever Matt Belisle in the eighth broke a tie, and Zimmerman later scored on Desmond's infield single to make it 5-3.

• Giants 10, Pirates 0: In Pittsburgh, Matt Cain allowed two hits over 6 2/3 innings, and San Francisco got three hits apiece from Buster Posey, Gregor Blanco and Joaquin Arias.

A year to the day after throwing a perfect game against Houston, Cain was nearly flawless again. He struck out three and walked two, giving up a single to Garrett Jones in the fifth and a double to Andrew McCutchen in the seventh.

American League

• Orioles 5, Red Sox 4: In Baltimore, Chris Davis singled home the tiebreaking run with two outs in the 13th inning in the opener of a four-game series.

Danny Valencia homered for the Orioles, who moved into second place, 2 1/2 games behind Boston.

• Blue Jays 3, Rangers 1: In Arlington, Texas, Edwin Encarnacion hit a tiebreaking two-run double in the eighth inning, and Texas wasted another solid outing by Yu Darvish, who has made five consecutive starts without a victory.

Toronto's Esmil Rogers allowed one run over seven innings for the victory, the same as Darvish, who struck out nine.

• Royals 10, Rays 1: In St. Petersburg, Fla., Elliot Johnson had a three-run homer for his second hit of an eight-run sixth inning, and Kansas City earned its eighth victory in its last nine games.

Johnson, who was traded to Kansas City by the Rays in February, led off the big inning with a single and chased Jeremy Hellickson with his second homer of the season.

Interleague

• Phillies 3, Twins 2: In Minneapolis, Cliff Lee allowed two runs in seven strong innings, Ben Revere had four hits and scored the go-ahead run, and Philadelphia snapped a five-game losing streak.

The speedy Revere slid home with nobody out in the eighth, scoring from third base on Jimmy Rollins' chopper. First baseman Justin Morneau was playing in, but his throw was too late to catch Revere.
