• Highlight: Five Tucson pitchers combined for 14 strikeouts, and the Padres earned their first win of the series against the Aces. Eric Stults, who is with Tucson on a rehab assignment from San Diego, started and tossed four innings, allowing one run and striking out seven. Brad Boxberger, Miles Mikolas, Josh Spence and Cory Burns turned in five innings of shutout baseball in relief of Stults.
• Big number: 16: First baseman Matt Clark hit his team-leading 16th home run, a solo shot in the third.
