Tucson starter Simon Castro lasted just seven batters - giving up four runs, three hits, three wild pitches and two walks - as the Padres lost 8-4 to the host Tacoma Rainiers on Thursday night.

Castro dropped to 2-2 on the season.

Alex Cintron led the Padres (13-15), going 3 for 5 with a run and an RBI.

Jesus Guzman had a solo homer in the second inning for the Padres.

Cesar Jimenez picked up the win (3-1) with 2 1/3 innings of scoreless relief for the Rainiers (11-17).

The Padres scored three runs in the fifth to pull within 7-4, but that was as close as they got.
