Is it pressure or pleasure?
It’s something coach Andy Lopez asks his Arizona Wildcats team on occasion.
It’s especially pertinent now.
The Wildcats will face USC this weekend for the final three games of the regular season. The opener is tonight at 6 at Hi Corbett Field and the stakes are simple for the UA: Win all three and the coach thinks his squad will have a pretty good chance at qualifying for next week’s NCAA tournament.
“I hope it’s pleasure, because of the theory I have with these guys,” Lopez said. “They have all heard it from the beginning of the season. I take it in 10-game increments. If the last 10 games have meaning that means you’ve done OK.
“The last three have meaning, so just go out and play.”
The Wildcats enter the weekend at 31-21 overall and 12-15 in the Pac-12. USC comes in at 20-33 and 10-17 in conference.
Lopez said he thinks two out of three may do the trick, but win all three and “we’re in pretty good shape.”
