The No. 13-ranked Arizona baseball team let a five-run lead slip away Tuesday night in Tempe, and No. 20-ranked Arizona State capitalized on a seven-run seventh inning to win a non-conference game 12-8 at Packard Stadium.

Arizona (24-12) used a six-run fifth-inning to take a 7-2 lead. Arizona State (24-13) scored twice in the fifth and once in the sixth.

Arizona starter Tyler Crawford turned over a 7-4 lead to the bullpen in the fifth inning. Relievers Tyler Hale, Stephen Manthei and Mathew Troupe allowed eight runs on four hits, four walks and two hit batters.

Troupe (2-1) suffered the loss after allowing the inherited tying runs to score and eventually the four runs that provided the winning margin in the bottom of the seventh.
