Stanford erased an early five-run deficit and rallied to defeat the visiting Arizona Wildcats 12-8 in the finale of a three-game series.

The Wildcats (25-14, 9-9 Pac-12) had a seven-run second inning, highlighted by Riley Moore's grand slam.

After Moore's clout gave UA a 4-2 lead, Stanford starter John Hochstatter hit Joseph Maggi with the next pitch, prompting home plate umpire Ramon Armendariz to immediately eject Hochstatter.

Despite being staked to a 7-2 lead, UA starter Tyler Crawford struggled. He allowed seven runs, five hits and two walks before being replaced in the fourth.

Stanford (22-12, 9-6) took the lead for good with a five-run fourth en route to taking two of the three games in the series.

After four innings, the teams had combined for 19 runs and 18 hits.

Reliever Tyler Hale kept the Stanford offense at bay over the final three innings, but the UA was never able to rally against Sam Lindquist, who gave up on hit over the last five innings.
