Arizona scored twice in the seventh inning to break a 5-5 tie, and the Wildcats got six strong innings of bullpen relief to outlast Columbia 7-5 on Sunday at Hi Corbett Field.

Trent Gilbert, who went 2 for 5 with three RBIs for Arizona, singled with two outs in the seventh and advanced to second after Ryan Koziol walked.

Joseph Maggi, hitless in his previous 14 at-bats, singled to center to score Gilbert, making it 6-5.

Koziol later scored on a wild pitch as No. 20 Arizona (13-5) avenged Saturday's 8-4 loss to Columbia (1-6) and won the three-game series.

UA relievers Tyger Talley and Mathew Troupe each pitched three stellar innings, giving up only one hit and no earned runs.

Talley yielded no hits after entering in the fourth with no outs for starter Cody Moffett, who gave up five runs (two earned) on six hits.

Troupe (2-0) allowed one hit and struck out six for the win, after replacing Moffett in the seventh.

Columbia took a 3-0 lead in the first, thanks to two UA errors. But the Cats scored three in the bottom half of the first to tie it on a Kevin Newman RBI single and a two-run single to right field by Gilbert.

Columbia took a 4-3 lead in the third on another UA error, but Arizona scored twice in the bottom half to go up 5-4 after Johnny Field got things started with a double to center.

UA's Brandon Dixon reached on a bunt single and stole second as an errant throw from the catcher let Field score, and Gilbert knocked in Dixon on a groundout.

Field and Zach Gibbons each went 3 for 4 for UA.

The Cats will face Butler in a two-game series at Hi Corbett, starting Tuesday at 6 p.m. The teams also play Wednesday at 1 p.m.
