"Gun toting" has been occupying the attention of the police and one of the justice's court. Complaint was made yesterday by a group of S.P. strikers against Robert Edgar and Miguel Pasqual, charging them with going armed and making a demonstration with their armament in the course of a war of words on East Sixth street.
A warrant was issued and the men taken into custody by Constable Mills. Their trials will take place early this week. Edgar and Pasqual are employed at the S.P. shops.
The evening before, on complaint of a striker, J.A. Peters was arrested at the depot while waiting for a train. Officer Meyer, who made the arrest, found a gun in his possession. It was not charged that he had displayed it.
Peters had been working for the company at Gila Bend. It appears that he was carrying the gun as a precaution and that he had bought it soon after his arrival in town for the preservation of his person against industrial trouble. He pleaded guilty before Recorder Cowan and fined $10.
