Among the arrivals on the El Paso & Southwestern through train yesterday was Jo Conners, editor of "Who's Who in Arizona," who returned after a most successful trip over the southern part of the state. That the Patagonia mining district is as active as a beehive, and one of the most promising in the state, is the statement made by the publisher of the new state history.
"Patagonia will be one of the best towns in the state inside of a year. People in a position to know are boosting the town all the time, and there are a number of new buildings being erected. A newspaper is being planned, the equipment already having been ordered, and within the next three weeks the first issue will appear. Every train brings a large number of people to the district, and every foot of ground which shows any promise is being worked.
"The entire southern part of the state is prosperous, and everyone is rejoicing that they will now have through connections from Douglas, Bisbee, Tombstone and other towns with the metropolis."
