The Arizona Wildcats' regular season has come down to two games. While there's plenty to worry about, travel won't be an issue.
Arizona will finish its season with home games against Oregon State and Arizona State, two of the Pac-10 Conference's hottest teams. How the Wildcats fare at Arizona Stadium will determine where the next road trip — to a bowl game — takes them.
Arizona (6-4 overall, 4-3 Pac-10) can secure a spot in either the Holiday Bowl, the Sun Bowl or the Las Vegas Bowl with wins in their final two games. Lose them both, however, and the Wildcats will limp into the postseason as a .500 team.
"We can definitely finish 8-4," quarterback Willie Tuitama said. "Our goal is to go out there and get ready for next week."
Here's what you need to know about Arizona's final two games:
No. 21 Oregon State
● When: Saturday, 5 p.m.
● Storyline: Oregon State's road to the Rose Bowl will run through Tucson. If the Beavers (7-3, 6-1) can win their final two games, they'll go to Pasadena for the first time in 44 years. The Wildcats, however, are favored.
● Arizona will win if: Tuitama continues to throw downfield. The Wildcats' quarterback found a rhythm —and the end zone — in the second half of Saturday's game by taking shots downfield. He averaged 9.75 yards per completion in an abysmal first half — and 12.4 yards per completion during Arizona's second-half rally.
● Arizona will lose if: Jacquizz Rodgers puts together another solid game. The Beavers' star tailback has rushed for 100 yards or more seven times this season. He had 144 yards and a touchdown in Saturday's 34-21win over Cal.
Rodgers, a true freshman, has rushed for a team-high 1,233 yards and 11 touchdowns this season. His 186-yard performance against USC on Sept. 25 has become a part of OSU lore.
● Stat that matters: Since 2006, Oregon State is 12-2 in the months of November and December.
● It's history: Arizona leads the all-time series 20-10-1. The Beavers, however, have won eight of their last nine games against the UA.
Arizona State
● When: Dec. 6, time TBA
● Storyline: The "Duel in the Desert" will again determine bowl destinations. Arizona can secure a place in a better bowl game by dispatching its in-state rival. Arizona State (4-6, 3-4) must "win out," defeating UCLA and Arizona, to become bowl-eligible. It's a strange twist for both teams given their recent history.
● Arizona will win if: The Wildcats play like they did 2004. Arizona played tough defense and moved the ball on the way to a 34-27 win at Arizona Stadium. The victory is Mike Stoops' only win against the Sun Devils.
● Arizona will lose if: Rudy Carpenter continues his success in Tucson. The Sun Devils' quarterback completed 16 of 24 passes for 206 yards and three touchdowns in 28-14 win at Arizona Stadium in 2006. Carpenter is 1-0 at Arizona Stadium, and 3-0 all-time against the Wildcats.
● Stat that matters: Arizona has scored twice as many offensive touchdowns (52) as Arizona State (26) this season.
● It's history: Arizona is 44-36-1 all-time against Arizona State, though the teams are nearly even in points scored. The Wildcats have scored just 70 more points during the series, which dates back to 1899.
