Artist gathering
A bunch of creative Tucsonans will be hanging at the Palisades visitor center, and if the cool mountains aren't reason enough to head up, then these folks are an added incentive.
"A Day Out With Authors & Artists" will bring together authors Richard Shelton ("Going Back to Bisbee"), and Suzanne Hensel ("Look to the Mountains"); Gary Tenen, one of the founders of Kartchner Caverns State Park; Frank Rose, who did the botanical poster "Flowering Plants of the Catalina Mountains"; and artist Jeanne Hartmann, creator of the print "The Lemmon Rock Lookout."
Stop in and get a book signed, chat a bit and just plain cool off. It's happening from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday at the visitor center, Milepost 20 on the Catalina Highway. It's free. 749-8700.
