Make fireworks, safely, with paint
at Tucson Children's Museum
What it is: Make your own paper fireworks.
Who it's for: Kids 10 and under and an adult companion.
When it is: 3 p.m. today.
Where it is: Tucson Children's Museum, 200 S. Sixth Ave.
Who's doing it: The folks over at the Children's Museum.
What it costs: $7 adults; $5 children, for museum admission. The workshop is included in the price of admission.

The particulars: Now, we know the temptation of working with real fireworks is great, but hey, they are against the law and can be dangerous.
Besides, you get to use paint and glitter to make the paper fireworks. That's quite cool.
Create DeGrazia-inspired works with kids at Museum of Art
What it is: Picture This! Art fun.
Who it's for: Kids 6 to 12 and their adult companions.
When it is: 1 p.m. Sunday.
Where it is: Tucson Museum of Art, 140 N. Main Ave.
Who's doing it: The creative minds at TMA.
What it costs: Free — even admission is free.
Where to call: 624-2333.
The particulars: The first Sunday of every month, the museum opens its doors and invites everyone in free. And it has these fun Picture This! Art for Families workshops.
This month, the theme is "Viva DeGrazia." The participants will study Ted DeGrazia's figurative work and get to create their own pieces of art. Worthy of framing, no doubt.
